Trek near Shimla - Shali Tibba

Shali Tibba

If you love to trek and explore the Hidden places near Shimla then Shali Tibba is the one, where you can enjoy 360` view of the amazing valley. It is also the highest peak in Shimla District. There is a Beautiful temple on the top dedicated to goddess Bhima Khali. It is surrounded by Shimla, Mashobra, Fagu and Narkanda. The road leading to the base camp, Khatonal Village. It is about 45 km from Shimla and takes 2 hours to reach there. From here you have to trek for 6 km to reach the top. It is mostly covered with dense forest, and also home of some wildlife animals, so don’t trek in Evening or night time. It is short, easy and can be completed in a single day. But I Recommend you to Stay there for a night to experience the scenic view of Sunrise. Carry your tents and place it near the stairs of temple, from where you can experience the beautiful valley. From the Top you can also locate Mt Deo Tibba and Mt Indrasen in Kullu, followed by Sail Peaks of Spiti Valley in North. At east you can Experience Churdhar range and Sirmour. Carry plenty of water and Food as there is no shop on the top. You can get tea from the Pujari of the temple by requesting him. You can also cook there by burning bonfire, enjoy the tea and some snacks with the scenic view of sunset. At night you also experience the Milky way during clear sky. Get up early in the Morning to experience Sunrise, which is the main attraction of this peak. After this amazing experience descent back to Khatonal. You can also stay at Khatonal as there are plenty of Homestay or you can get back to home. It is an ideal weekend trek near Shimla.
